Being alone either makes us lonely or curious and free, choose wisely. That child-like curiosity comes back to me whenever I'm alone on a journey: going to another city, starting a new job, meeting new people, doing new things, etc.

Life is better being incredibly selective of people in your close social circle and this does require a lot of trial and error. Letting go of those consistently taking away from your quality of life - perhaps nobody really "needs" to know why you make such decisions - it's your life.

I never thought I would end up being a lone wolf but I am and it works for me and my mental health. I am good with it.

There's a lovely quote from a Buddhist book of wisdom that goes something like: If, on the journey of lfe, you do not find compatable companions, be like a lone elephant in the jungle.I find it comforting because happy marriages, friends who are ture friends, intellectual equals are not easy to find. And sometimes you are too busy just working and coping to go on a mission to find such people. I am quite happy being a lone elephant. Very peaceful.

Being alone allows me to see how others strive for acceptance even if they never get it. It hurts them and im numb to this want...

My wife struggles to understand my lack if interest in having shallow friendships. I’m perfectly content being alone in the woods as a recreational past time, where as she needs constant chatter and companionship. Sometimes I feel like we aren’t very compatible in that regard.

I think being able to open up, and be yourself is a superpower, a lot of people will love you simply cause you are being you

I like going to Costco occasionally. I feel connected to ordinary people in an ordinary setting. The experience is remarkably unremarkable, but somehow leaves me feeling uplifted. Embrace the ordinary.

I really feel I could do 3 months without seeing a soul and still be ok. As long as i had music and books.
