Dissociated Women Incorporated You know what? Forget left wing and right wing. So much toxicity and misinformation has entered political discourse that we just need to start over from scratch, with a fresh foundation. My ethical and sociopolitical belief system is Star Trek. I believe that we should treat others with kindness, and compassion, even if they have failed to do so with us. Sometimes that’s really hard when someone has treated me unkindly, sometimes I fail, but I try. I also believe that the state’s purpose should be to help as many people as possible live their lives with the most happiness, health, and liberty possible, in descending order of importance. I believe we should abolish money, at least for life’s necessities and basics, as we already have enough post-scarcity production capacity to feed and clothe everyone, and probably even to give everyone basic appliances, including smartphones and computers, which are necessities in the modern era. I believe human life (and other intelligent life) is more important than profit. I believe diversity is a strength to be celebrated, as it gives us more viewpoints to solve problems, and enriches our world with variety. As Spock 2 said in 2269, “Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations, symbolising the elements that create truth, and beauty”. By the original 1920s definition of woke, but expanded to include minorities other than American black people (ie being aware of and opposed to systemic discrimination and bigotry), I am very much woke, simply because I took Star Trek’s values to heart. I am up wing, and forwards wing, I want humanity to rise up, thrive, and move forwards to become better than what we are today. That is *my* political agenda, making life great for as many people as possible, embracing the unknown, and acting with kindness instead of hatred. Do those fundamental tenets match your political ideology, too? Do you want humanity’s resources to be used to help everyone to be helped to live their best lives, rather than governments working solely for the wealthy, privileged few? Our terminology and our definitions of things may differ, but do our core ideologies? Ah yes, the "air jet space rocket sound" from a vape box. Good to know my European herbalists of fine grasses have better design choices then cringy, american vaporizers. (not seriously mine just sounds like sucking through a straw)
