black spirits: festival of new black poets in america' (1972) - norman jordan's poem 'one-eyed critics'. This was recorded in the Apollo and after my friend met Norman Jordan, (today actually) we were informed that Norman never received credit or royalties for his poem being used. I think that is a shame.

Knowing the unjustifiable American history of Africans I applaud and admire those who rise above. The struggle imposed upon Africans perhaps shouldn't be used an excuse for anything but the reality of it is unprecedented.

@lilwil132 @lilwil132 i hear it's from the album 'black spirits: festival of new black poets in america' (1972) - specifically, norman jordan's poem 'one-eyed critics' - but i've been unable to confirm that by actually listening.

This is the kind of mind-set we don't have, it's all capitalism about money and shit, while people like Mos Def are trying to spread the messages of understanding. You, sir, are a perfect example of the perfect citizen. Keep up the love homie.
