I was trying to build a ship, got hung up and came on here to see what other people had done.

The flags look good to me. They're blown that way because wind was coming from behind the ship so as to allow the ship to sail. They correspond with wind direction and are awesome.

I wish everyone who makes ships actually learn about sailing before they go and screw up the rigging so it's not "true to life".

@TheDefroi Yeah, that might be the flaw, i wanted to give my ships some distinctive characteristics, and come to liking the idea of minecraft mascots faces for a flags. Sadly, those are huge and you won't recognize them with more "realistic" curves from wind flow.
