When I was making DirTy Snow there were so many scenes that I wrote, but couldn’t figure out where to put them. So they got discarded, until now.
On Friday, January 30th, at 6pm CST, all 4 episodes of Dirty Snow are returning, with the deleted scenes woven in! (I even completely remade the first 3 scenes)
I don’t want you to watch this alone. I’ll be there the entire time in the liVe chat, reading what you’re noticing, chatting with you, watching your theories form in real time, reacting with you, and probably panicking when you catch something I didn’t expect you to catch. This is one of those moments where it feels like the story really works if you’re there with me.
And here’s the part I really love. What if we all made grilled cheese at the same time. Like a little ritual for Dirty Donna premiere nights! If you want yours to be exactly like Donna’s, this is the recipe:
2 slices of sourdough bread
Coat the outsides with mayonnaise
However much cheddar cheese your heart desires in the middle
Salt to taste
A drizzle of balsamic glaze
Close the sandwich and fry until golden brown

the way she calls her "my little doll" serveral times throughout this is so creepy but at the same time shows that she has some type of insecurity within her, and has been taking it out on alice i suppose

i love how the mother only fully realizes her daughters dead after Alice had burned because in the mothers eyes, that meant Alice’s death wasn’t her fault. great little touch that gets you to understand the narcissism, keep up the great work!

The way she kept tending to her, and the eggs just kept piling up over time, really captured the fact that she didn't want to see what she did even though it was staring right at her. Trying to re-do the last time she was alive. The amount of work put into this is amazing

Oh my gosh, the “And.. mommy doesn’t like to do it.” When Alice got thrown is everything. I hear that a lot when I get screamed at, and it shows how they use that for guilt.

this is hellish cruel. pure madness. I love the fact that mother's voice is kinda funny and distracting, otherwise it'll be too oppressing. perfect balance. I'll watch it again!

I love the idea that Alice was already metaphorically dead and then, only at the end when she doesn’t see the fire as her fault, she finally acknowledges her death

This definitely captures the essence of an abusive and narcissistic mother. It really hits close to home. It is terrible that children have to go through such abuse.

17:19 the implication that the dead alice shes talking to is the alice she sees as another person, another daughter, shes lost one already and she wont lose this one because this one is perfect and quiet and doesnt fight back UGH

it hurts how close to home this hits for me as a person who has a mother who is EXTREMELY similar. the fact she doesn't take accountability within anything she has done, the comments of "doll" and trying to shift her into something she isn't, the projection of the divorce and her insecurity, the lala land she seems to be in. this is insane, and i feel only someone who has truly gone through something similar would understand this on the level u do. thank u for this, it may disturb others but it gave a comfort to me. this is wonderful work.

I love the saying, "Art is meant to disturb the comforted and comfort the disturbed." This is literally the greatest animation shortfilm ive ever seen. the way the mother realizes she's dead only once she'd burned, the whole time I felt absolutely sick. the voice actors did an amazing job, and the whole thing is a masterpiece. The fact that things like this happen in real life make me want to vomit. Great job!
