Tested this with the current 2.1 patch and sorry, same thing happens. You pay him and he immediately gets to work. No extra dialog. "Chair please, sit down, relax". After the job is done you can immediately start buying more cyberware, though, instead of being forced to pay him back first.

Considering that some decent cars in-game cost around 21,000 eddies, Vik giving you that on credit - right before going on a mission where you could easily die (and, well... kinda did...) shows how awesome he is.

I usually just pay him back first thing. It just feels right to me, Vic is just such a class act.

Could have at least said "kid I'm surprised. Much appreciated."

I wish all upgrades had these animations instead of instantaneously applying them; or at the very least whenever you get upgrades from Vik.

Fun fact about this: when Vik sends you the message about the clothes, you still have the option to say "I can't accept another gift" to which he will reply "I hope you don't think those were gifts" even though you already paid for them.

If you have the money, Vik sells some upgrades that you would otherwise need higher Street Cred for during this initial trade

Reminds me of the mission at the Maelstrom headquarter of the prologue where there is a door which needs a 20 body stat to be opened. Obviosly its way too early to have these kind of stats but if you actually have them at that point and you open that door, then you just enter a small glitched room which doesn't really lead to anything and makes you skip a good junk of the level which also breaks the whole mission. They put all these options in this game which aren't possible early in a normal playthrough to give this sense of depth and possability. But when you actually manage to do these options early then the game either doesn't acknowledge them or it just outright breaks, really disappointing.

I did this too. Later, when you go to steal the relic, Jackie still talks like you owe Vik money.

What would have been cool is if the game rewarded you with wide quest. Look at the area in the back of Vic's shop. Looks like it could be used for future DLC. Imagine paid in full giving you Vic's contact info and some secret cyberware that he has been working on for a while.

It feels like it was just left out.

I paid Vic up front and it completed the mission, glitched, now it says pay him again.. Thanks cdpr

Thanks for taking the "L" on this one lol. Was curious but didn't care enough to do the work myself.

Apparently there is more than 50,000 dialogue lines that was suppose to be incorporated into the game.
