Skarlouie Well! What an experience that was!! Yes you’re reading this correctly, yes I am alive. I had the honour and privilege of being one of the purple shirts at this year’s Awdry Extravaganza and oh boy what fun it has been. It was my first one and I absolutely adored it. I was surprised that people remembered me and recognised me! So thank you to all those people who came up and said hello! Everyone was an absolute delight! To be around some many like minded and talented people; really made me feel like I was truly home and truly myself. I like to take a moment to thank everyone on the team; Purple Shirts and TR Volunteers, for instantly making me one of the family. It really was so incredibly special! I had never been to the TR before; so I didn’t really know what to expect, but I can safely say now; it’s one of my favourite places on God’s green earth. I’m already chomping at the bit to get back there as soon as I can. There were lots of highlights throughout the event and personal ones with friends I hadn’t seen for YEARS (something I am not going to allow to happen again!) But a huge highlight and something I think will stay with me for a long time will be first seeing Sir Handel, in the Skarloey Railway livery, with the face, pulling into Wharf. Seeing that, has really stayed with me. The majestic of him arriving and feeling like he is truly real, will stay with me forever and ever. Has it inspired me to make more things, yes it has. Will I do it? Watch this space is all I can say. Let me dip my toe in and see what happens. It really has been experience that has awoken something that may have been dormant for years! And I really want to ride this feeling of pure unfiltered joy, and see what happens. To my friends, old and new. I cannot thank you all enough for the parts you have played within this event and it has been a true pleasure to see so many wonderful people in one place. This is exactly what it’s all about, and I am totally on board!!! The only thing is I’m kicking myself that this was the first one I came too!! (Yes I was inspired my good friend, The Scotsman Returns, shoot me) Love you all, hopefully speak sooner rather than later! Lou X (6 months ago (edited))

Skarlouie 1.4 million views, of course it would be a video I made in half an hour. Fun fact, ‪@halfbaked8‬ owns the paint Thomas and Wagon now! (6 years ago)
