Zelko and Dani did meet and it was filmed in a documentary. Dani had by that time retired from the military and was working as (of all things) a baker. The only man to shoot down a stealth aircraft became a baker.

In Serbia, the response to this was huge. They even made posters on which they had a photo of the plane, with a tagline that said "Sorry, we didn't know it was invisible"

In an interview, the same pilot said that his mistake was opening the bomb doors much earlier than necessary, and that he should have waited until he was over the target.

Reportedly, the Serbian SAM battery commander observed a regular pattern with US air strikes and he put that knowledge to use. That doesn't diminish the achievement in any way. He adapted to the situation and bagged a Nighthawk. Though I'm American, I admire his skill.
