It's my understanding that the T-888 was created for TSCC because the T-800 was actually a licensed creation that belongs to James Cameron. It's also the reason why, outside of the title of the series, they never actually utter the word "Terminator" and instead use euphemisms like "metal" to refer to the machines.

The only real differnce between 800 and 850 is really the fact that the 850 has two Hydrogen Fuel cells :/

The T-850 is the Mammoth Battle Tank of the endoskeleton terminators. It may not be the most advanced, but in terms of sheer brute power and durability, it's unmatched. It was also the only model with an 'adrenalin' system, allowing it to become even stronger and faster for short durations.

T600 - How it had rubber skin and how the resistance could pick it up easily where the t800 infiltrator was hard to spot, Kyle Reese says this on Terminator 1, but you rarely see these scenes or pictures etc

Not only T-888 but the T-850 and T-800 are composed of coltan titanium but much less compared to the T-888 and you forget to add that T-850 has 2 hydrogen fuel cells unlike T-800 that had only a single nuclear fuel cell
