The saddest part for me was that nobody even remotely thought that she was an actual human with normal needs. Nobody was wondering about were the suitable bathroom was, not even the other ladies :(

The way you can HEAR her breathing trembling after the coffee pot line as it pans to the men in the room shows how much raw emotion Taraji P. Hensen put into this scene. It's incredible

A roomful of people shooting for the moon and she just brought them all crashing down to earth with this speech. Sometimes we get too distracted with our dreams to notice something in front of us that needs fixing

This scene brought me to tears. Just the thought of how humiliated she must have felt, a grown woman, having to explain her bodily functions and where she was allowed to perform them to a room full of people who didn’t give a tinkers damn about her made me feel ashamed

This scene always takes my breath away. The stunning acting from her, the way the rage builds up, contained at first then EXPLODES but only for 1 moment. She humbled everyone in the room. Segregation wasn’t even a part of his world until it became HIS PROBLEM.

I’m kind of sad we didn’t get to see Mr. Harrison’s reaction in this because it shows how much of a person he was when she brought up this issue. Yes, he might not have realized the issue, but he made damn sure it wasn’t an issue afterwards and he made it clear on that.

And she didn’t even get an Oscar for this, despite an A+++ performance

This is why I'm so forever grateful for those who had to walk through back doors, so I can proudly walk through the front doors.

That line “living from coffee from a pot none of you wanna touch!”. I felt that in my soul. What an amazing performance!

Excellent performance from her and Kevin Costner! She poured all her character's emotions and frustrations into this scene. And when I saw Mr. Harrison's reaction, I KNEW he was going to take a sledge hammer to that bathroom sign!

And she politely excuses herself..now that's how you leave a room speechless...

Surprising that schools don't teach about this, I learned a lot about the history of NASA and black people, just by watching this movie

This scene is just amazing. Furthermore, the fact that he called her out like that in front of everyone rather than pulling her aside and speaking with her in private says a lot as well. Who is he to ask what she's doing in the BATHROOM in front of everyone in that office. To have to answer his question with the honesty she did in front of everyone in that room...The courage is unmistakable.

The ‘angry Black woman’ is such a stigma, that people forget that there were/are perfectly good reasons why so many of us were/are angry, livid, frustrated, annoyed, incredulous etc.
