I just realized the whole film frame thing is an homage to the first ever motion picture titled "The Horse in Motion" that makes a breakthrough in cinematography, inspired the birth of animation, and push advancement in the study of animal movement. The fact that the film eventually burned off meant that they were rolling the film so fast it generates enough heat to combust, shows how Tachyon breaks the established natural motion of a horse. This whole scene paid homage to the contribution of horses for animation and shows how Tachyon broke natural horse motion and speed

Her story is so tragic. In the movie, you could tell she wanted to keep running so badly, but knowing she would never reach her max speed again depressed her so much that she forcefully convinced herself that seeing others achieve her dream would be enough. Obviously, that wasn’t the case. The ending of the movie is bittersweet, because while it implies she’s returning to racing, it will never be at her peak, she is still a monster in terms of speed and stamina through. She hide her true feeling from everybody through the movie too, I wish she was a bit more expressive, is like seeing someone bottle up their emotions hard.

The thing about this clip: Agnes Tachyon is seeing 'herself' - the very peak of her speed and it's outpacing her by lengths (as to what the irl horse did to its competitors).

Even in the game she's a fucking menace in the track.

She is my favorite character by far, not just because she's insanely fast and crazy, but the fact that she also uses knowledge to further herself in running.

The sound design in this scene is phenomenal. The movie reel click growing faster and faster until it sounds like a Geiger Counter, as if warning of the present danger in her reckless ambition. The crackling lightning as she threatens to overcome the storm that is Manhattan Cafe's ever elusive shadow. The way it all grows more erratic against the ethereal sound of rushing wind until it unravels. It perfectly conveys the mood of her self-destructive pursuit.

I think this scene really hammers in that Tachyon isn’t crazy, it’s more that she’s singleminded and has tunnel vision to an insane degree. Literally nothing matters to her other than finding the limits of speed, and everything (her own racing career, making weird experiments, etc) is in pursuit of that. They could have made her a generic mad scientist character but they didn’t. (borat voice) mah wife

1:23 This part is actually so sad for Cafe. Imagine yourself beating yourself up for reaching a goal of your own and you see your friend reaching that without even giving her best and then smiling back at you.
