Description
I am a retired trucker with 53 years, and over 4 million miles of accident free driving 18's cross country, and later tri-state area.
My list of interest in videos and photography includes Railroads, Great Lakes shipping, Classic and Antique cars, trucks, and construction equipment. I started videos in the mid 70's with a Kodak 8mm sound movie camera. Then graduated to a VHS camcorder mid 80's, then Digital 8 since about 96. Now I have gone with a HD Camcorder, but
since all the good stuff has disappeared, not much reason to go out anymore.
At the moment, I'm restoring, and showing our 1985 Mack Superliner. My wife and I are enjoying every minute that we drive this big beauty. God has blessed us with good health, a wonderful family at Journey By Grace Church. For life changing messages, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZ5daKx...
I want to thank all my subscribers, and I hope I can continue to give you videos NEW and old that everyone can enjoy. Thank you. Jack

Its a real testament to the resilience of rail transport to still see those tracks take a heavy engine like that. Right on.

Bless your soul, Conrail will be missed. You got a great catch.

Lots of dead rails all over the country. It's a testament to how quickly the skies were preferred over the "rocky" rides of the rails. I'm a plane nut, yet I do love an occasional train ride. Still think it's the best way to view scenery if I didn't want to drive/fly.

That locomotive looks to have been re-shopped sometime in its life, as it appears to be a General Electric locomotive riding on EMD trucks. Great shot, thanks for sharing. Mike in Fresno, Ca.

Nice vid and thanks for posting the footage, Jack. I'll add to your reply regarding the warped rails, too, for the camera angle combined with zooming in really accents any bends or kinks in the rail. I see this rather often when shooting photos in my area. That jointed rail looks not much worse than that of the US Army rail line from Ft. Campbell, KY to Hopkinsville, KY (CSX interchange), in fact. Our crews still get a good rocking in certain places, even with maintenance. ;)
