2003 Chevy Malibu same issue for the past 3 days my bf is still working on it my battery went dead today and just got the key out as I type THANKYOUUU

I had to replace the ignition switch but I couldn't take the key out because the switch didn't turn al the way to the off position, then I tried what you shared here and it worked, then I reprogrammed the pass lock. Thanks!
