Jack's Throwback Attack
The final podcast of this bunch is a 2 parter and is with former television producer Tim Edmunds.
Tim has a long career in TV, starting out in the 1970s as a researcher for shows such as The Saturday Banana, Runaround and HOW. In the 1980s he would work on the Saturday morning show No.73 which lead to meeting Neil Buchanan which would be the catalyst for much of his TV work.
The 1990s saw the creation of Neil and Tim’s company The Media Merchants as well as the iconic children’s art show Art Attack which ran on ITV for 17 years. The Media Merchants were also responsible for shows such as Zzzap!, It’s a Mystery and Terror Towers among others.
Tim retired once Art Attack finished in 2007 but has kindly taken part in this interview to discuss his career and answer many questions about those iconic shows. Except a lot of chat about Art Attack and Zzzap!
We recorded so much that this interview is going to be in 2 parts, the first part will be out on December 1st with part 2 out on January 5th.

Classic CITV fans, can you help me with something I've been trying to remember. Many years ago I had an afternoon block of CITV recorded from 1998. The tape is long gone, I haven't seen it since probably around 2000/2001. I remember it had the last few minutes of Rosie and Jim (The Tower of London) and Timbuctoo (Snap Learns a New Game) - both of these point to 23rd January 1998. I've been trying to remember what other shows were on that afternoon if anyone knows or has an old TV listing from that date. I think possibly Men in Black the Animated Series was on towards the end? I have vague memories of promos for Sooty's Amazing Adventures and maybe Adam's Family Tree but these are very fuzzy memories. Thanks!

I do have a small bunch of interviews I've recorded this year to release. Next one will be a chat with Brenda Longman, best known for being the voice of Soo from The Sooty Show. Out on October 5th!

Finish school, go home, watch CBBC or CITV, endure half an hour of Neighbours waiting for The Simpsons on BBC 2, Turkey twizzlers, chips and beans for tea, crank out a few levels of Sonic 2 on the Mega Drive.

This is what I love about the internet. Being able to preserve such great stuff that the official networks wouldn't touch today.

I thought Zapp was a fever dream I had as a child...apparently not, it actually happened.

I care little for the internet these days, but this is a small and enjoyable reprieve. I’m glad this stuff has been preserved.

It’s a bit of cliche, but Britain really was so much better back then
