As an avid fanfiction reader, the fact that these books were the ones that got so popular that they got adapted into movies is deeply offensive. You can find stuff that's x1000000 times better on AO3 that will never be taken seriously because now when people think of fanfiction, they think of this piece of shit.

My sister is a dom & was PISSED when this book got popular. She’s followed my moms footsteps in educating us in embracing our own sexuality at our own pace & being safe in experimenting. The biggest thing that has been drilled into the very fiber of our beings is CONSENT!!!!! Like damn I knew this book was shit but THIS IS JUST HORRIBLE
