It's sad to see how many boys are scarred for life because of circumcisions gone wrong.

I have always been annoyed and slightly angry that my parents had me circumcised, so I did not circumcise my 3 boys. The strongest argument for it has always been tradition, and I'm generally skeptical of tradition. I'm glad I didn't make this choice for my boys.

At 3:57 you include the Mogen clamp among "safe" methods, yet the Mogen company has gone out of business after owing millions in damages to the families of boys who lost part of the heads of their penises in Mogen clamps.

My final comment is that there are damages that always occur: loss of the ridged band, loss of a high concentration of meissner corpuscles, loss of the gliding function of the skin, keratinization of the glans, removal of frenulum. As biologist, you should research this more.

In most cases, circumcision is not "one of those intensely personal choices". It's the irreparable harm that others inflict on you.

Circumcision is usually medically unnecessary: therefore it should not be performed as a matter of routine. That's it, as far as I'm concerned.
