Virtual Railfan Barstow is back online with a new modem and upgraded internet! We are aware of an issue with the Fairport East camera. It appears to be an issue with the camera and we are working on a fix for the issue. Still awaiting full resolution of the internet issues at Decatur but the vendor has located some bad equipment and is working to repair or replace it. La Plata Depot cameras are offline. There are extensive internet issues in the area that the provider is working on. We have ported the PTZ stream to replace the East (main) stream for the time being while these issues are resolved. Virtual Railfan The La Plata PTZ camera is down at the source with an apparent hardware issue. We will investigate further to determine and repair the issue. The Grab Bag video clips stream is currently offline. We are doing some extensive upgrades to our back end services which makes operation of this stream impractical right now. Look for it to return in the near future. These back end upgrades have and will continue to cause short stream interruptions at various streams as we rearrange the furniture for future growth. We have modified our BREAKING - Bad Weather stream to a single stream with 4 views. One of these views rotates regularly and the other 3 are changed periodically. Virtual Railfan 🚧 Website Update & What’s Happening at Virtual Railfan 🚧 Over the past couple of days, we’ve heard from many of our website members about certain features—like Dashboards and DVR—not working as expected, along with concerns about our new website experience. We want to clear something up right away: 👉 The all-new VirtualRailfan.com has NOT launched yet! As part of preparing for this major upgrade, we’re in the middle of migrating large amounts of data from our current site to the new one. During this process, some features on the existing website may be temporarily unavailable or not work quite right. We know that’s frustrating, but these short-term hiccups are part of making a smooth, long-term transition. We originally hoped to launch the new site this weekend, but we’ve decided to take a little more time to ensure everything is stable and ready. We’re now targeting a mid-next week launch. The new site is still on track for January—we just won’t flip the switch until it meets our standards. The good news: the all-new Virtual Railfan website is right around the corner, with better performance, improved reliability, and exciting new features across web, phone, tablet, and TV apps. We appreciate everyone’s patience and support during this transition. This update is all about setting Virtual Railfan up for the future—and we can’t wait to share it with you very soon!
