Will Smith from "laughing at the joke" to "slapping Chris" to "crying during the speech". A well deserved Oscar for these mood swings.

I think what Amy did was spot on in releasing whatever tension there was.

She handled the situation like a real pro...she literally made everyone laugh after that uneasy moment.

The comedians out there are going to eat this up. What a great source for material.

Pretending that nothing happened after someone just got assaulted, what a great way to resolve the situation
normiels3 (3 years ago)
Not a huge fan of her but that was probably the best way anyone could’ve broken up that tension. Well done.

If you pause when Will is walking off stage, you can see a smirk on his face. He really enjoyed that slap.

Thanks Amy for doing what comedians do, tell jokes and feeding off the crowd. Kudos!

Amy literally had to try to clean up some of the embarrassment that will caused

She did a really great job hosting! That little fist bump to Haddish was hilarious.

Sad that this incident is all about Will and no one is considering the hurt, humiliation and trauma that Chris Rock suffered. My heart is with Chris Rock and I pray he does not suffer from the aftermath of being assaulted and abused.

Amy rocked the spot and cut through the tension like a hot knife through butter! I raise my glass to Amy for salvaging a truly messy situation. U go gurl!

Smith was totally out of line. Great example for all children. Whether you're a leader of a country, or a celebrity at an awards show: violence is never okay.

The slap was bad, but the f-bombs were unnecessary and made him look like a loser.

Every comedian should be outraged at the notion of an audience member getting onstage and physically assaulting a comedian for a joke they did not like. Insane how everyone is OK with it. Everything else is just noise.

Will Smith's temperament introduced August Alsina to the world!

Maya Rudolph in the back left is the best part of this. She knew exactly what Amy was trying to do and I LOVE her nod of approval.
