Honestly, the demons in Frieren actually just being evil and not "misunderstood" was refreshing.

As most of the individuals who've watched/read Frieren, a lot of people who believe that the Demons are misunderstood and that Frieren is a racist killer, are those that'll be the easiest to be influenced/tricked by demons.

Ironically these demons are probably some of the most interesting I've seen in a while. Just they way they are described, essentially just monsters that mimic humanity, more specifically speech without understanding what the words themselves mean just as a means to get closer to their prey.

I do love the fact that demons are essentially "demons." I'm tired of the misunderstood trope

I find it far more realistic that humans would try to be friends something evil, then try to destroy something that was harmless to them, but they misunderstood

A lot of what they call "demons" in anime or Japanese folklore aren't really demons in the abrahamic sense. They are really more akin to the fairy folk when you think about it.

To be fair what I find terrifying with the Demon is this Manga is that I would 100% fall for their trap and even let myself get eaten because I'm too shy.

I half-like the demons in Frieren—not because they align with biblical notions, but because they’re portrayed as truly alien, not human. The show gets it right by rejecting the humanization of non-human species. That’s what I love most about Frieren: Elves, Dwarves, and other beings aren’t just humans in costume. They may have some overlapping traits, but their morality and thought processes are fundamentally different.

I assumed that people thought the demons were a metaphor for immigrants that is why people called it racist

I’m probably getting lost in the weeds here, but my only gripe with calling them biblical, is that they’re technically not “evil.” Bibilical demons are agents of satan, whose goal is to diminish and destroy the kingdom of God, that’s what makes them evil. In Frieren, they’re monsters; mimics, but with more rationale.

It's weird that people who dislike Frieren, and those who find commonality with the demons overlap.
