The way he treats her is very responsible in my opinion. He measures it out and helps her calm down I see no issues with it at all

When she was hitting herself it pained me, she wasn't hitting herself softly but she was legit punching herself and that's surely very painful. I can't imagine the pain her father goes through. Hope their situation can become better

As a parent with child with autism spectrum and seeing how badly they can hurt themselves or others I totally understand and support this family. Its beyond hard at times, and feeling helpless for your child is the worst feeling ever.
