(Opinion) Untitled Thomas and friends project 2026 merchandise RANKED (Top 5)
So seeing as more characters had been leaked and their diecast left an opportunity to make this, so here’s my top 5 from both diecast and Motorized combined
5) Diecast Thomas - normally I’d expect Thomas to be higher on this list but although he looks very good, it’s those fat magnets that ruined it for him, the face I’m still getting used to but MAN they got rid of his iconic triangle eyebrows
4) Motorized Percy - Funnily enough, they actually did Percy justice and looks very accurate but kinda similar to 80th Motorized Percy. Given the face expression on him, well most likely see the classic era side of him with that smug face he has
3) Diecast Rosie - This one I’m shocked ranked higher than Thomas because this is Rosie’s big return to the show after a few year break but we now finally have a Diecast Rosie with magnets. The magnets on one hand are good for those with just pink Rosie as magnets but on the other hand, it just doesn’t look right and I’m shocked they didn’t use the adventures coupling system
2) Diecast Henry - Oddly enough, This is probably the best Henry has looked in ages, accurate wheel configuration and actually lines up with what’s above them (couldn’t figure out the name of them, sorry) and was leaked before Thomas?! Alright, you KNOW you’re a main character when HENRY of all characters who hasn’t had the main focus in ages gets leaked before the mascot of the entire franchise. Only complaint is how there’s a huge gap between his wheels on the tender, why couldn’t they add another set of wheels exactly? I don’t know
1) Motorized Gordon and Nia - I actually couldn’t decide who was better of the two so I decided to have them both in 1st place. They both actually have a bogie wheel on their motorized, something we haven’t seen in YEARS and you gotta give credits for Mattel going in and adding more pieces to them like that and make them accurate as possible. This is the best the two have looked in motorised by FAR and now Gordon kind of looks like his Plarail design now and it’s honestly funny.
Another thing to clarify is that someone who works on the diecast has said that those are NOT the final designs for the show. PHEW, they stated that they were mainly CGI promos with the faces for the new show placed on top of them as they prepare for the actual designs for the show to leak. I’m hoping by then they fix some of the diecast like Toby because where are his side skirts and cow catchers?!
