i saw it today, i was a bit let down I thought they went out of their way to glorify Maverick's character a bit too much. the fact that he flew the F-14 Tomcat again was nice but unnecessary. the original Top Gun was a stand alone success this newest version made far too many references to the original film i thought. the ending of the film was far greater than the beginning however.
