Let's all be real here, Christine know she was singing with the Phantom the minute he opened his mouth. And she's totally into it. And Raoul knows it. Like, you can literally see on his face that moment of realization of "Oh crap, how the heck can I possibly compete with that?"

I just now realized that when in Masquerade the Phantom tells Piangi that he needs to lose weight for his next role in Don Juan Triumphant, he's actually referring to this exact moment: he already plans to kill him and replace him during this scene, so that he can kidnap Christine, but if Piangi is still fat the swap can't work. So he demands that Piangi loses weight so that when the swap happens it's more believable.

I have such a passion for Gerard Butler in this movie. He took lessons to sing for his part, his costumes are absolutely sexy, and Emmy is fantastic.

“Past the point of no return, no backward glances.” Gives me the gooseys! The way her facial expression goes from fear, to intrigue and then back to almost guilt is so incredible I love how this song is like every song combined.

This is forever my favorite version, and 4:47 Rauols face and tears. I saw another comment describe it perfectly. He was pained, knowing he is Christines safe choice. It's clear her body and mind, at least a part is deep rooted to Erik. As Erik is to her, and he will never be able to compete with that. Even if she was just playing along, you can tell and feel the attraction they have and he probably questioned if she was still playing or fell for Erik completely. For if she did, he could never take her away.
