Hello! I wanted to drop a channel update for YouTube friends. The channel has been struggling quite badly this year with growth, which has been due to me.
Without going too much into it, for several years I've been dealing with particular head pains that were getting worse. About 5-6 months ago I was (finally!) diagnosed with a skull malformation putting pressure on part of my brain. Not life threatening! But a HUGE bummer. As a result, some videos have taken nearly 2 months to finish, which is very slow.
I know a lot of folks would say to not worry about content, to take care of myself, but that's not feasible. I have to pay my bills, I have to keep my channel healthy, and I only have myself who can take care of that. There are no social safety nets for this.
So, what I'm going to do is make every work minute count and follow channel trends more closely. The channel seems to do well with horror, so I'm going to release horror content for a while. I'm also going to pay attention to more well known titles and big name cult classics. Newer games simply don't perform well on the channel, so they're OUT permanently. Videos might be a bit shorter, just so things are easier and I can get stuff out faster. And Lore Compendiums might become a mild crutch until this is taken care of.
If you can find it in your heart to share a video you enjoy with someone you think might like it, that would be incredibly helpful and appreciated! The lore of System Shock will be out in a few days. Then we'll be on to Darkwood, which I'm SOOOO looking forward to! Then the Amnesia series video remake (The Bunker will be streamed Nov 1st and 2nd if you're interested). If you have recommendations for games that might appease the algorithm Gods and audiences, don't be shy! Even if it's not really horror. Games like Half-Life and The Last Of Us have come up quite often, I'm just not sure if they have *lore* legs. Maybe The Witcher?
