the reason the fake malwarebytes uninstalled itself is likely because it found out it was in a vm, thus assuming it was being analyzed and deleted itself to avoid that

the malwarebytes virus deleted its self because it detected your vm, some viruses do that so they cant be reverse engineered & investigated.
