The man who played the Frenchman is a great actor too

The french farmer's increasingly terrified face really sells this scene for me. The way landa completely breaks him and forces him to confess without so much as raising his voice is a phenomenal acting

Why didn't they run as soon as the evil music started playing?

This scene alone would have made an oscar worthy short film.

Tbh, the french actor Denis Ménochet deserves an award too.

The actor was asked how he was able to portrait such a evil character so well, he said "Evil? He wasent evil. In his mind he was a hero from the army"

The French man in the scene should also have won something. Great acting, i could feel the rage and despair.

I like how this scene is universally recognised as the scene that won Waltz the Oscar, and it's literally the opening scene.

I mean the other guy played his role as good as Christoph, he made us believe that officer psychologically dominate him.

He knew already where they were hiding, he just decided to grant the guy life instead of killing him, cuz he had no chance anyway.

The Frenchman, LaPadite's performance is underrated. You can see his heartbreak from his regretful betrayal & can practically hear him screaming on the inside as he begins to cry & tremble while pointing out their positions under the floor. An all-around master class.

That ever-so-slight face drop at 0:56 is what does it for me. He goes from a slight smile to a psychotic angry look with just a millimeter of lowering his eyebrows and lips.

Christoph Waltz can play a guy you either absolutely hate, fear or adore. He has great range.

From this interrogation scene to the one where he shares the apple streudel with Shoshanna…absolutely brilliant.

When i first saw this i never felt so much tension seeing any other scene in my entire life.
boris4491 (2 months ago)
Let's admit the fact he realized that shooting from that distance with P38 would be really hard
rolletroll2338 (2 months ago)
As a french, I can say that the french of Christoph Waltz is perfect.
